## What the Ossvy MCP server does

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. The Ossvy MCP server gives your assistant read-only access to your Ossvy workspace, so you can ask about your visibility in plain language instead of opening dashboards.

## What you can ask

- “Which prompts did we lose to competitors this week? (Tool: \`compare\_competitors\`)”
- “Show our ChatGPT visibility trend for the last 90 days. (Tool: \`get\_visibility\_summary\`)”
- “Which sources does Perplexity cite most for our category? (Tool: \`list\_citations\`)”
- “Summarise this month's changes for our leadership. (Tool: \`get\_visibility\_summary\`)”

## Available tools

| Tool | What it returns | Access |
| --- | --- | --- |
| \`list\_projects\` | Lists the projects (brands or clients) in your workspace. | Read-only |
| \`get\_visibility\_summary\` | Visibility score, mention rate and share of voice per engine, for a date range. | Read-only |
| \`list\_prompts\` | Your tracked prompts, with tags, market and language. | Read-only |
| \`get\_prompt\_results\` | The latest answers for a prompt: who was mentioned, position and cited sources. | Read-only |
| \`list\_citations\` | The sources engines cite for your prompts, with counts. | Read-only |
| \`compare\_competitors\` | Mentions and position against the competitors you track. | Read-only |
| \`list\_actions\` | The open recommendations from actionable insights, by expected impact. | Read-only |

## Connect in three steps

1. **Add the server**: In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter \`https://mcp.ossvy.com\`. In ChatGPT, add it as a connector in developer mode. In Claude Code, run \`claude mcp add --transport http ossvy https://mcp.ossvy.com\`.
2. **Sign in**: Sign in with your Ossvy account and choose the workspace.
3. **Approve**: Approve read-only access. Your assistant can now answer from your data.

## Security and permissions

### Read-only

The assistant can read your data but can't change projects, prompts or settings.

### Workspace-scoped

Each connection is limited to the one workspace you approved.

### Your role applies

The assistant sees only what your Ossvy role allows.

### Revoke any time

Disconnect in Settings → Connected apps; access stops at once.

### Fair-use limits

Requests are rate-limited per workspace to keep the service fast for everyone.

### Can the assistant change my data?

No. Every tool is read-only; changes happen in Ossvy, for example in [actionable insights](https://ossvy.com/product/actionable-insights.md).

### Which AI assistants work with it?

Any MCP client that supports remote servers with sign-in, including Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code. See all [integrations](https://ossvy.com/integrations.md).

### Is my data shared with the AI provider?
